SEAL TG-BI

The profile TG-BI It is a double-lip shaft seal manufactured from a single metal case and two distinct rubber coatings. In this design, a complementary rubber compound (typically NBR) is used for the outer casing, while the primary sealing lip—which incorporates the spring—and the dust lip are made from a higher-grade material (such as FKM or ACM) to ensure consistent sealing performance and enhanced protection. Additionally, the seal features external ribbing to facilitate installation.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Good static sealing.
  • Compensation of different thermal expansion.
  • Reduced risk of fretting corrosion.
  • A higher surface roughness of the bore is allowed.
  • Sealing for low- and high-viscosity fluids
  • Modern primary sealing lip with low radial forces
  • Protection against unwanted airborne contaminants
  • Grooved outside for ease of assembly.

See our gInstallation guide for oil seals to ensure proper installation and operation of the TG-BI seal.

TOLERANCE FOR THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE SEAL

When not under pressure, the inside diameter of the sealing lip is always smaller than the shaft diameter. The difference between the two dimensions is known as interference or pre-fitting. Depending on the shaft size, the sealing lip diameter is estimated to be between 0.8 mm and 3.5 mm smaller. It will depend on the setting chosen by each manufacturer.
