SEAL TCWY

The profile TCWY It is a double-lip shaft seal consisting of a single metal case with a rubber coating, a primary sealing lip with an integrated spring, and a dust lip that acts as a protective barrier against external dirt buildup. The key difference compared to the TCW is that the TCWY is a custom-designed version, developed according to the customer's specifications to meet the specific requirements of a given application—whether to offer higher pressure resistance, enhanced corrosion protection, the ability to withstand higher rotational speeds, or other specialized needs.

The sealing lip of the TCWY features bidirectional grooves, allowing it to follow the shaft’s rotation in both directions and effectively control lubricant expulsion.

Key Features of the TCWY Profile

  • 1. Good static sealing.
  • Compensation of different thermal expansion.
  • Reduced risk of fretting corrosion.
  • A higher surface roughness of the bore is allowed.
  • Sealing for low- and high-viscosity fluids
  • Modern primary sealing lip with low radial forces
  • Protection against unwanted airborne contaminants
  • Sealing lip with bidirectional grooves for optimal lubricant control

TOLERANCE FOR THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE SEAL

When not under pressure, the inside diameter of the sealing lip is always smaller than the shaft diameter. The difference between the two dimensions is known as interference or pre-fitting. Depending on the shaft size, the sealing lip diameter is estimated to be between 0.8 mm and 3.5 mm smaller. It will depend on the setting chosen by each manufacturer.
