Seals type ASP

ASP-type shaft seals, according to DIN 3760, are specifically designed for high-pressure applications, exceeding the sealing capabilities of conventional shaft seals. They feature a reinforced sealing lip with a special spring and an internal structure engineered to withstand pressures well above standard levels, reaching up to 10 bar or more, depending on the model and the materials used.

One of its most notable features is the inclusion of metal reinforcement elements and/or special profiles within the seal body, which enable it to maintain sealing stability and effectiveness under demanding operating conditions, such as high pressure, elevated temperatures, or exposure to aggressive hydraulic fluids. Some models also include auxiliary pressure-relief lips, which help to better distribute the load on the shaft, preventing deformation or premature failure.

The ASP-type design may vary depending on the pressure it must withstand, and can even be adapted with dual lips and compensation chambers. These seals are widely used in hydraulic pumps, presses, hydraulic transmission systems, actuators, and heavy machinery, where reliable and long-lasting sealing against pressurized fluids is essential.

These seals are available in materials such as NBR, HNBR, or FKM, combined with treated metal reinforcements, depending on the required thermal, chemical, and mechanical resistance. To ensure optimal performance, it is essential to follow the recommended installation procedures, lubrication guidelines, and shaft surface finish specifications.
