Seals Type B

Type B shaft seals, manufactured according to DIN 3760-B, are radial sealing elements designed for rotating shafts. They consist of an exposed metal outer casing, an elastomeric rubber sealing lip, and a helical spring that reinforces the lip’s pressure against the shaft to maintain effective dynamic sealing.This non-coated metal housing provides a rigid press-fit in precisely machined housings and is suitable for applications where no compensation for housing surface irregularities is required. The Type B configuration features a simple design without an auxiliary dust lip, making it ideal for clean environments or applications where external contamination is not a critical concern.

Within the B-type seal range, various sealing lip variants are available, including the standard version (SB), semi-rubber-coated outer casing (SBC), grooved version with the same coating (SBG), partially rubber-coated inner casing (SM), fully rubber-coated version (SZ), and even options with special anti-corrosion treatment (SB-H), among others. In addition, some models feature helical grooves on the sealing lip designed to support specific shaft rotation directions:´ L’ for left-hand rotation, ‘R’ for right-hand rotation, and ‘W’ for bidirectional applications.
