Retenes Tipo CS

DIN 3761 Type CS shaft seals combine the main features of Type C (rigid metal structure) with an additional dust lip, providing a dual sealing function: an internal barrier to prevent lubricant leakage and an external barrier to block the ingress of dust, particles, or moisture. This design makes them a robust solution for industrial environments with increased exposure to contaminants.

Their fully metal construction ensures high dimensional stability, allowing for installation in housings with precise geometries and fine surface finishes, as typically found in precision machinery or critical industrial applications. Thanks to their rigidity, Type CS seals are ideal for operating conditions involving high rotational speeds, moderate pressures, or elevated temperatures, where elastomer-coated seals may not perform as effectively over time.

The additional dust lip, without a spring, serves as a first protective barrier, while the main sealing lip, with a spring, ensures consistent contact pressure against the shaft, effectively retaining lubricants such as oils or greases. This configuration enhances the overall sealing performance, extending the service life of internal components.
