TYPE A OIL SEALS

DIN 3760 Type A oil seals are those that feature only a single sealing lip (dispensing with any additional lip or dust guard) and are fully rubber-lined. They primarily perform the sealing function and are typically chosen for confined spaces with low contamination, or in applications where an additional lip could score the shaft. We find different variants depending on the outer lining: standard (SC), reinforced (SF), grooved (SG), or manufactured by injection molding (SO). There are also variants in which the sealing lip features hydrodynamic grooves with a specific direction of rotation (‘L’ for left-hand, ‘R’ for right-hand, or ‘W’ for bidirectional) to match the rotation of the shaft and control lubricant retention.
