V-RINGS VR-VA
Description
Rotary seal made entirely of elastomer and consisting of a body and a front sealing lip. The elasticity of the body, together with the interference between it and the shaft, keeps the seal in place and rotating with the shaft without the need for a specific housing. Sealing takes place frontally between the lip and a surface perpendicular to the shaft. VA is the standard design.
Assembly
The VA V-Ring is fitted by slightly stretching it to slide it over the shaft, making sure the lip makes uniform contact with the mating surface, avoiding sharp edges and chamfering corners if necessary, and checking that the seat is clean and perpendicular to the shaft to ensure correct sealing.
Advantages
- Standard design with reinforced body.
- Excellent dynamic sealing effect, as a primary seal or combined with radial oil seals.
- Able to compensate for small axial displacements as well as angular and radial misalignments.
- Friction decreases as peripheral speed increases.
- Reliable design, suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
- Effective protection in abrasive environments.
Materials
Available in NBR, FKM, CR, HNBR and VMQ, with hardness between 60 and 80 Shore. These compounds offer an optimal combination of flexibility, chemical resistance and thermal stability, allowing reliable performance against dust, splashes, oils, greases and atmospheric agents. Their elastic structure ensures proper adaptation to the shaft and effective sealing even under misalignment or vibration.

Technical drawing and assembly parameters of the VR-VA V-Rings
This technical diagram defines the essential dimensions and geometric variables for the correct assembly of the seal on the shaft. It shows the critical dimensions linked to the specification tables, such as the body width (A), the total width (B) and the height (C). These values ensure uniform, perpendicular contact with the mating surface.
Three-dimensional view and components of the VR-VA V-Rings
This 3D illustration details the basic structure of the VA rotary V-Ring seal, made entirely of elastomer. You can clearly see its three key sections: the body, the hinge and the front dust lip. Its elastic design allows it to rotate together with the shaft without requiring a specific housing.
