Piston seal JP3

Description
The JP3 is a double-acting compact piston seal made up of three parts: A fabric-reinforced NBR elastomer sealing ring and two POM guide and back-up rings, one on each side. The fabric reinforcement gives high wear and extrusion resistance, so the JP3 keeps its static and dynamic sealing performance even with poor lubrication or rough surface finishes.
Assembly
Installation is carried out in a closed groove on a one-piece piston. Chamfer the groove edges and clean the groove before fitting. Use soft tooling without sharp edges and do not drag the seal over sharp edges or threads. Lubricate the seal with the system oil before installation.

Materials
Available in NBR and POM. The sealing ring is made of fabric-reinforced NBR, which increases mechanical strength and the ability to withstand pressure without extruding, and the guide and back-up rings of POM, a thermoplastic with high strength and a low friction coefficient. This combination withstands mineral oils, greases and HFA, HFB and HFC fire-resistant fluids, and keeps the dimensional stability of the assembly under pressure and side loads.
