Manufacturing materials

Couplings are manufactured in carbon steel, grey cast iron, ductile iron, high-strength aluminium and AISI 316L stainless steel, which allows the most appropriate solution to be selected according to the working conditions, the level of corrosion, the mechanical requirements or the hygienic demands of the installation. OSN also supplies special executions in composite materials, galvanised components and specific configurations for aggressive environments, for the food, chemical, marine and mining industries and for areas subject to a risk of explosion.

Spider elements and flexible elements

In addition to complete couplings, OSN supplies replacement elastomer spiders and flexible elements for a wide range of manufacturers. Compounds are available in NBR and polyurethane with differing levels of elasticity, vibration absorption and transmissible torque. Several hardness grades are offered, from more flexible versions intended to damp shock loads and misalignment through to high-rigidity, high-torque compounds for demanding applications. Variants are also available for high temperatures, continuous duty, humid environments and exposure to oils and to certain chemical agents, which allows the performance of the assembly to be optimised according to the requirements of each installation.

Industrial applications

The flexible couplings supplied by OSN are used in mechanical transmission systems of every kind, from electric motors and geared motors through to pumps, fans, compressors, agitators, mixers, conveyors, crushers and process machinery.
