SELFOIL®: self-lubricating sintered bushings

SELFOIL® is a recognised brand of self-lubricating sintered bushings, manufactured from porous materials such as bronze or iron and impregnated with lubricating oil. This technology provides constant lubrication between the bushing and the shaft, removing the need for additional lubrication and considerably reducing maintenance.

Advantages of SELFOIL® bushings

  • Self-lubrication: eliminates the need for grease fittings and reduces the risk of seizing.
  • High durability: they operate for thousands of hours with minimal wear.
  • High performance: they withstand dynamic loads of up to 10 MPa and sliding speeds of up to 5 m/s.
  • Quiet operation: a very low noise level under optimal working conditions.

In addition to the wide range of standard bushings, SELFOIL® offers solid and hollow bars in self-lubricating sintered material, available in various dimensions. These bars can be supplied in full length for machining by the customer or machined to drawing, which makes it possible to produce bushings and special components when the required dimensions do not match the standard references. After machining, the parts can be re-impregnated in order to maintain their self-lubricating properties.

Type A Catalogue
Type B Flanged cylindrical
Suitable when the bushing works under axial load, with or without radial load. The flange absorbs the axial load.
236 standard sizes:
  • Inner diameter from 3 mm to 60 mm
  • Outer diameter from 6 mm to 70 mm
  • Length from 4 mm to 60 mm
Type B Catalogue
Type C – Spherical
Suitable when the bushing must compensate for shaft misalignment.

8 standard sizes:

  • Inner diameter from 4 mm to 12 mm
  • Sphere diameter from 10 mm to 23 mm
  • Length from 8 mm to 16 mm
Type C Catalogue
Type T - Hollow and solid bars
Suitable when the bushing size does not match any of the standard SELFOIL® bushing sizes. The bar has to be machined to the final dimension and re-impregnated.
