SELFOIL®: Self-lubricating Sintered Bearings

SELFOIL® is a recognised brand of self-lubricating sintered bearings, manufactured from porous materials such as bronze or iron and impregnated with lubricating oil. This technology provides constant lubrication between the bearing and the shaft, eliminating the need for additional lubrication and considerably reducing maintenance.

Advantages of SELFOIL® bearings

  • Self-lubrication: eliminates the need for grease points and reduces the risk of seizing.
  • Great durability: they operate for thousands of hours without progressive wear.
  • High performance: they withstand dynamic loads of up to 10 MPa and linear speeds of up to 5 m/s.
  • Quiet operation: a very low noise level under optimal working conditions.

In addition to the wide range of standard bearings, SELFOIL® offers solid bars and hollow bars of self-lubricating sintered material, available in different dimensions. These bars can be supplied in full length for machining by the customer, or machined to drawing, making it possible to produce bushings and special components when the required dimensions do not match the standard references. After machining, the parts can be re-impregnated to maintain their self-lubricating properties.
SELFOIL® has a wide range of more than 1,600 standard references available in permanent stock, guaranteeing immediate delivery.

Type A - Cylindrical
Suitable when the bearing works under radial load, with no axial load or with a very low axial load.

  • Outside diameter from 5 mm to 120 mm
  • Length from 2 mm to 120 mm
Type A Catalogue
Type B - Cylindrical with flange
Suitable when the bearing works under axial load, with or without radial load. The flange serves to absorb the axial load.
236 standard sizes:
  • Inside diameter from 3 mm to 60 mm
  • Outside diameter from 6 mm to 70 mm
  • Length from 4 mm to 60 mm
Type B Catalogue
Type C – Spherical
Suitable when the bearing pivots in operation, or when it must absorb shaft misalignments.

8 standard sizes:

  • Inside diameter from 4 mm to 12 mm
  • Sphere diameter from 10 mm to 23 mm
  • Length from 8 mm to 16 mm
Type C Catalogue
Type T - Hollow and solid bars
Suitable when the bearing size does not match any of the standard SELFOIL® sizes. The bar must be machined to the final size and re-impregnated.
