Rod seal UNP2

Description

The UNP2 is an asymmetrical single-acting U-shaped seal with a secondary sealing lip and an additional support edge. Its geometry, with a tight fit on the outer diameter, is designed for cylinders with small housing dimensions. The secondary lip protects against the ingress of dirt and, together with the preload generated by the profile, provides good sealing at both high and low pressures.

Assembly

Fit in a closed, machined groove (or in axially open spaces up to 25 mm diameter). Chamfer and deburr the edges of the housing and of the rod, and clean the housing thoroughly before installation. Do not pull the seal over sharp edges, threads or keyways, using a mounting sleeve if necessary. Lubricate the rod before assembly.

Materials

Made of polyurethane (PU) with a hardness of 92 to 95 Shore A, a material of high mechanical and abrasion resistance that offers excellent performance against hydraulic oils to DIN 51524 parts 1 to 3, mineral-based lubricating oils and greases, and HFA, HFB and HFC fire-resistant hydraulic fluids to VDMA 24317.
