Washer DIN 127B

Description
The DIN 127B is a spring-loaded lock washer with square ends, designed to prevent loosening of screws and nuts. Its split shape generates pressure and friction during tightening, keeping the joint firm against vibrations, shocks or load variations.
Assembly
To mount the DIN 127B washer, place it between the nut or screw head and the support surface. The groove should be oriented so that it tends to close during tightening. When the torque is applied, the washer compresses and generates the elastic force necessary to prevent loosening. Do not reuse if it appears crushed or deformed.
Materials
DIN 127B washers are typically made of carbon steel and A2, A4 or 1.4122 stainless steel. They are available with phosphated, oiled, zinc-plated, hot-dip galvanized finishes or with coatings such as yellow passivation or zinc lamellae. These options improve their corrosion resistance and durability in demanding mechanical applications.

Technical drawing and installation parameters of the DIN 127B spring lock washers
This technical diagram defines the dimensions and geometric variables that are essential for the correct selection and installation of the DIN 127B spring lock washer, of split form and with square ends. It shows the critical dimensions linked to the specification tables, such as the thread size of the bolt or nut it accompanies, the inside diameter (d1), the outside diameter (d2), the material thickness (s) and the maximum height of the free washer before tightening (h). Complying with these dimensions ensures the spring pressure and the friction required between the surfaces, so that the joint stays tight against vibration, impact and load variations.
