Piston seal PDV

Description

PDV is a complete double-acting pneumatic piston seal, made from elastomer vulcanized onto a metal support. It combines sealing and guiding in a single profile, reducing friction and making installation easier in pneumatic cylinders.

Assembly

To install the PDV, secure it correctly to the rod or piston and check that the screwed joint is firmly tightened. Lubricate the sliding surface and cylinder bore with compatible oil, avoiding damage to the sealing lips. Periodically inspect wear and cleanliness.

Materials

The PDV profile can be manufactured in NBR nitrile rubber from 75 to 85 Shore A, vulcanized onto a metal disc or sheet/steel support. For special high-temperature applications, it can also be produced in FKM from 80 to 85 Shore A.

This technical drawing defines the dimensions and geometric variables that are essential for the correct selection and installation of the PDV piston seal, a complete double-acting assembly with elastomer vulcanised onto a metal support that is fastened directly to the rod or the piston. It shows the critical dimensions linked to the size table, such as the inside diameter (Ød), the outside diameter (ØD), the profile width (b, shown as B on the drawing), the metal support diameter (Ød1) and the thicknesses s and s1, together with the housing dimension (n) and the 20° lead-in chamfer. The edges must be rounded and free from burrs. Complying with these dimensions ensures that the screwed joint is correctly tightened and that the piston is stably guided in diameters from 10 to 300 mm.
