Rod seal UP2

Description

The UP2 is an asymmetrical, single-acting hydraulic rod seal with a compact U-shaped profile. It features an inner sealing lip, a fabric reinforcement ring on the back and a support ring that acts as a gap-closure element, preventing extrusion and providing high reliability in moderately demanding hydraulic applications in general industry.

Assembly

Installation in an axially open groove, or in a closed groove only with a mounting tool. Chamfer the cylinder housing and the piston rod to prevent damage and clean the installation space carefully before fitting. Do not pull the seal over sharp edges, threads or keyways, protecting it with a mounting sleeve if necessary. Lubricate the piston rod before installation.

Materials

Available in different compounds depending on the fluid and the working temperature: NBR, EPDM, FKM, FFKM, NR, CR and VMQ in hardnesses between 70 and 90 Shore A, and PTFE in a hardness of 60 Shore D. All of them feature a cotton-fabric reinforcement ring and a POM support ring that provide resistance to extrusion.
