Washer DIN 463

Description

The DIN 463 washer is a locking washer with an outer tongue intended to prevent the nut or screw from turning. It is used by bending the tongue against a flat surface or inside a groove, ensuring secure mechanical anchoring in assemblies subject to vibration or twisting.

Assembly

For mounting a DIN 463 washer, place it between the nut or screw and the support surface, making sure that the tab is facing the groove, flat face or surface where it will be bent. Once the tightening torque has been applied, bend the tab against the nut or part to prevent it from rotating and secure the mechanical lock.

Materials

DIN 463 washers can be manufactured from carbon steel, stainless steel (A2, A4) or aluminum alloys, offering good mechanical and corrosion resistance. Typical finishes include galvanized, phosphated, or nickel-plated, which enhance its protection and durability in demanding industrial environments.
