Rod seal CV

Description

The CV is a single-acting rod sealing set made up of a stack of chevron-type rings. The set consists of a header ring, several fabric-reinforced elastomer rings, intermediate elastomer rings and a back ring, which together form a multi-lip structure. This design delivers very reliable sealing at both low and high pressure and tolerates worn surfaces, making it ideal for heavy-duty cylinders. It is fitted in an open groove, which allows the housing height to be adjusted.

Assembly

It is fitted in an open groove by stacking the rings in the correct order, with the header and back rings at each end. Chamfer the housing and rod edges, and clean the groove before assembly. Do not drag the rings over sharp edges or threads, and lubricate the rod with the system fluid before start-up.

Materials

Made of NBR, fabric-reinforced elastomer and POM. The POM back ring provides extrusion resistance, while the fabric rings ensure wear resistance and guide the stack, with good behaviour against mineral hydraulic oils and greases.
