Rod seal HRO1

Description
The HRO1 is a double-acting hydraulic rod seal made up of two parts: a PTFE slipper ring with a trapezoidal profile acting as the sealing element, and an elastomer O-ring that pre-loads it against the rod. The trapezoidal cross-section keeps the robust, compact form of a piston seal without losing the flexibility needed to achieve pressure-related maximum compression. The edge angle allows a slight tilting of the seal, shifting maximum compression toward the pressure side and reducing the risk of gap extrusion.
Assembly
Fit the HRO1 into a closed groove according to the drawing dimensions, compatible with an ISO 7425-2 housing. Chamfer and round off the groove edges and carefully clean the housing before assembly. Do not drag the seal over sharp edges or threads, and lubricate the rod and the seal with the working fluid itself before insertion.

Materials
The slipper ring is made of high-performance PTFE (filled according to the application) and the pre-loading O-ring can be supplied in NBR or FKM depending on the fluid and working temperature. The PTFE+NBR combination, with a 70 Shore A O-ring, suits mineral hydraulic oils HL and HLP, greases and water-glycol fluids within their ranges. The PTFE+FKM combination, with an 80 Shore A O-ring, offers higher thermal and chemical resistance, suitable for higher temperatures and for HFD fluids. Other material combinations available on request.
