Rod seal UNR2

Description

The UNR2 is a single-acting hydraulic rod seal with a compact design and a secondary sealing lip. It seals on the rod by combining a progressive main lip with a secondary lip that provides extra protection against dirt ingress. Its geometry generates a high preload that maintains sealing at both high and low pressures, making it ideal for long-stroke cylinders and small housing designs. It installs easily by snapping into a closed groove.

Assembly

It is fitted into a closed groove by snapping the profile into the housing. Chamfer the housing and rod edges, and clean the groove before assembly. Do not drag the seal over sharp edges or threads, and lubricate the rod and lip with the system fluid before start-up.

Available in NBR, EPDM, FKM, FFKM, NR, CR, VMQ and PTFE. The compound choice defines the chemical resistance and the temperature range, with good behaviour against mineral hydraulic oils, bio-based oils, greases and HFA, HFB and HFC fire-resistant fluids depending on the selected material.
