Symmetrical seal HBX

Description

The HBX is a symmetrical double-acting seal made up of a polyurethane U-profile with precision sealing lips and x-ring housed between them as the energizing element. The x-ring acts as a spring and keeps the sealing contact even at low pressure or vacuum. Its lip design achieves effective sealing in vacuum and in high and low pressure applications. It is suitable for medium-duty hydraulic cylinders and holding platforms, and it can also be used as a rod seal combined with other profiles for more demanding applications.

Assembly

Lubricate the seal and the mating surfaces. Chamfer and polish the lead-in edges. Avoid burrs and sharp edges. Fit without twisting or pinching. Keep the recommended surface roughness and check correct seating before commissioning.

Materials

Polyurethane (PU) U-profile of 92 Shore A, with high wear resistance, and an energizing x-ring in NBR (nitrile) of 70/75 Shore A. Suitable for mineral oils, bio oils and water-based fluids (water soluble and water glycol) through the appropriate material selection.
