Piston seal PDV3

Description
PDV3 is a double-acting pneumatic piston sealing profile with self-cushioning performance and simple assembly. It combines sealing, guidance, and end-position damping for use with dry or prepared compressed air in standard pneumatic cylinders.
Assembly
Install the PDV3 against the piston shoulder and fasten it securely, protecting threaded areas to prevent loosening. Lubricate with compatible oil, avoid damage to the sealing lips, and check wear, cleanliness, and sealing performance during maintenance.
Advantages
Materials
The PDV3 profile can be manufactured with an NBR body of 70 to 80 Shore A, combined with a bonded metal case in aluminium or low-carbon steel to DIN 1624. For special high-temperature applications, it can also be manufactured in FKM.

Technical drawing and installation parameters of the PDV3 piston seal
This technical drawing defines the dimensions and geometric variables that are essential for the correct selection and installation of the PDV3 piston seal, a self-cushioning double-acting profile with a bonded metal case that is fitted against the piston shoulder. It shows the critical dimensions linked to the size table, such as the inside diameter (Ød), the outside diameter (ØD), the profile width (b) and the overall width (B), the metal case diameter (Ød1), the thickness s and the height h of the cushioning lips, together with the housing dimension (C, shown as n on the drawing) and the 20° lead-in chamfer. Complying with these dimensions ensures correct guidance without complex machining and effective end-of-stroke cushioning, with a sliding surface roughness of Rmax ≤ 4 µm.
Three-dimensional view and components of the PDV3 piston seal
This 3D illustration shows the basic structure of the PDV3 piston seal. You will be able to identify its inner metal casing, the elastomer body vulcanised onto it, the sealing lips that bear against the cylinder bore and the cushioning lips that act at the end of the stroke. That combination is what integrates sealing, guiding and cushioning in a single part. The body is manufactured in NBR from 70 to 80 Shore A on a bonded metal case in aluminium or low-carbon steel to DIN 1624, with an FKM version for special high-temperature applications.
