Rod seal JVT

Description
The JVT is a single-acting rod seal with a U-shaped PTFE body and a metal spring housed inside that pre-loads the sealing lips against the rod. In operation, system pressure reinforces and overrides the spring’s initial load, ensuring contact even at low pressures. Thanks to the PTFE it offers a wide chemical and temperature range, low friction and excellent dry-running behaviour, being suitable for high pressures and even vacuum.
Assembly
Fit the JVT into a closed groove according to the drawing dimensions, with the spring facing the pressure side. Chamfer and round off the groove edges and carefully clean the housing before assembly. Do not drag the seal over sharp edges or threads, lubricate the rod before insertion, and provide a back-up ring when pressure exceeds 25 MPa.

Materials
The seal body is made of high-performance PTFE, a material that provides practically universal chemical resistance, a wide temperature range, low friction and good dry-running behaviour. The lip pre-load is provided by a metal spring integrated in the profile.
