Piston seal COR

Description
The COR profile is an elastomer pneumatic piston seal, commonly made of NBR, designed to provide effective sealing, low friction and good cylinder adaptability.
Assembly
Install the COR in a clean groove, free from sharp edges or damage. Lubricate lightly before assembly, avoid twisting the profile and periodically check wear, dirt or deformation to ensure proper sealing.
Advantages
Materials
The COR can be manufactured in any elastomer according to the customer’s application, with NBR being the usual option for general pneumatic use and a typical hardness of 80-85 Shore A.

Technical drawing and installation parameters of the COR piston seal
This technical drawing defines the dimensions and geometric variables that are essential for the correct selection and installation of the COR piston seal, a one-piece elastomer profile with asymmetrical sealing lips for pneumatic cylinders. It shows the critical dimensions linked to the size table, such as the inside diameter (Ød), the outside diameter (ØD), the profile width (b), the housing groove width (B) and the groove bottom diameter (Ød1), together with the housing dimension (C, shown as n on the drawing) and the 20° lead-in chamfer. The groove edges must be rounded and free from burrs. Complying with these dimensions ensures a correct seating of the profile, installation without twisting and stable sealing performance in diameters from 6 to 2000 mm.
Three-dimensional view and components of the COR piston seal
This 3D illustration shows the basic structure of the COR piston seal. It is a one-piece sealing element with asymmetrical sealing lips, usually manufactured in NBR with a hardness of 80 to 85 Shore A for general pneumatic use. The lip geometry reduces friction during piston movement and maintains uniform contact against the cylinder bore. The main advantage of this profile is its material versatility, as it can be manufactured in other elastomers depending on the fluid, the temperature and the working conditions of each application.
